IBA HITTING TIP #1 - NO SQUISH!!!

If your hitting coach is still telling you to squish the bug, you need to watch the video to the left.  Squish the bug is a pointer coaches at the very low amateur levels use to get their hitters to use their hips in the swing.  Once a player is past first year or two of coach-pitch, this hitting tip should be put on the shelf.

IBA HITTING TIP #2 - STAY ON TOP?

Hitting coaches of all levels say, “Stay on top.”  The problem is most hitting coaches don’t understand what this means and many of them stress “staying on top” in tee work, which can be catastrophic for a player’s swing.  Watch the video on the left to understand what I mean.

Indiana Baseball Academy hitting tips are brought to you by IBA hitting instructor and professional scout and hitting coach Jason Wuerfel.  You can contact Jason at jason@tcbeachbums.com with questions about these tips or to set up a private lesson.  Private hitting lessons at IBA start in packets of four and run $235.
